Keogh shock: star striker departs Perth Glory

Perth Glory have confirmed that striker Andy Keogh has left the club.

Glory announced on Wednesday that the 33-year-old’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent to ‘allow the player to explore a football opportunity elsewhere’

Keogh had signed a new one-year contract extension with the Hyundai A-League Premiers in May.

The Irishman leaves Glory as their all-time leading scorer having found the net 55 times in 122 appearances.

He scored 15 of those goals in the 2018/19 campaign as the club secured their maiden piece of Hyundai A-League silverware.

But the off-season arrival of Uruguayan Bruno Fornaroli from Melbourne City has seemingly made the Irishman surplus to requirements.

More to come.
