Andy Keogh scored one and created the other as Perth Glory overcame a late scare to secure a 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar at nib Stadium.
Perth’s star spearhead overshadowed the returning Adam Taggart for much of the match before the Roar striker won and converted an 84th-minute penalty to set up a tense finale.
But, despite losing Tomi Mrcela to a red card for the foul that led to the spot-kick, Keogh’s early opener and Connor O’Toole’s own goal proved enough for Glory to secure a well-earned three points and rejoin Sydney FC at the top of the table.

Chris Ikonomidis scored the late winner in last weekend’s thrilling win over Melbourne Victory and it was the young winger who supplied Perth’s first in the 15th minute, breezing to the byline and squaring for Keogh to notch his third in as many matches.
Jamie Young had earlier denied the Irish striker with a sensational double save and Roar’s back four, relentlessly attacked in wide areas, were thankful to reach the interval without further damage.

It was only a matter of time until they were breached again, though, and the second came on 63 minutes, O’Toole putting through his own net following Young’s smart save from Keogh.
The contest appeared to be winding down to an expected conclusion until Roar were thrown a lifeline six minutes from the end.
Mrcela received a straight red for bundling into the back of Taggart, who picked himself up to convert against his former club.
But it was too little, too late for Brisbane, who remain winless after three matches.
