Dimitri Petratos is a fan favourite at the Newcastle Jets – and it’s easy to see why after an incredible act of generosity.
A report in the Newcastle Herald over the weekend revealed an amazing deed Petratos did for a woman in Hamilton recently who had stopped him and asked for money.

Instead of handing over a couple of dollars, the Caltex Socceroos attacker – who was on his way to the supermarket – asked the woman what she wanted and returned soon after with a bag full of groceries.
Take a bow Dimi!
According to a @newcastleherald story, @NewcastleJetsFC star Dimi Petratos bought an entire bag of supermarket shopping for a local woman when asked for spare change.

Petratos, who signed a new three-year contract extension with the Hunter club last week, was happy for his good deed to go unnoticed only for a passer-by to witness it and get in contact with the Herald.
“Dimi is so modest. I asked him if the thing on Twitter about him buying a bag of groceries for a lady was true,” Jets boss Merrick said in the Herald story.
“He said: ‘yeah, I was just told about it being on Twitter. I didn’t realise someone had seen me’.
“That is typical of Dimi. He would do something like that and not expect anyone to notice or expect any accolades.
“He is just straight down the line, a really nice guy. The whole family are like that. For a 25-year-old he is a very mature person.
“He was almost embarrassed that someone had noticed him do the good deed.”
