Newcastle Jets’ first opponent for their tour of Spain has been confirmed, following a reschedule of the team’s friendly fixtures.
The Jets will clash with Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai FC on Tuesday at 3am AEST (7pm local).

Al-Ahli, who ply their trade in the UAE Pro-League finished 5th in the 2017/18 season.
The club have amassed a total of 22 domestic titles in their history, making them the second most successful team in the UAE.
Al-Ahli also reached the 2015 AFC Champions League Final, narrowly going down to Guangzhou Evergrande.
In 2017, Al-Ahli merged with Dubai CSC and Al Shabab to form Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai FC.

Jets Assistant Clayton Zane said the new opposition would prove a tough challenge.
“They’re a side with a strong history and a quality squad of players,” Zane said.
“As another club from the AFC, they prove a relevant opposition who are also going through their pre-season preparations.
“For us, the most important thing is getting game time and because of our position here at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre we’ve been able to secure a great game to get things started in Spain.”
