Mitchell Murphy, CEO of Newcastle Jets, says plans are in place to modify the Jets’ kit to include their former colours of gold.
Speaking at the club’s member forum in Newcastle on Thursday night, Murphy said plans are in place to move ahead with jersey and colour modifications for the coming season.

He said a full member vote on the kit and colours will happen ahead of the 2016/17 Season, but for next season he said there would be some gold in a remodelled kit for the Jets.
The club’s members warmly received news of any change in kit, one which gives the Jets an identity separate from the blue and red stripes of Newcastle Knights in the NRL.
Murphy added he’d like the Jets to play in an all gold kit – one which harks back to the club’s original colours – for a one-off match in what he said could be a Heritage Round.
“We’re also on the verge of signing a MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) with the RAAF Base and we’re going to play a one-off game in a commemorative jersey that has planes on the front,” he revealed.
He added it was scheduled for Round 8 against Brisbane Roar at Hunter Stadium on a Saturday night.
“And I’m happy to tell you there’ll be a hornet flying over the stadium before the game. This is exciting stuff,” Murphy said.
