Middleby said the match will be a great experience for all the A-League players who are selected to take part.
“For representatives from each A-League Club to have the chance to play against a team like Manchester United is a fantastic opportunity for all the players,” he said.
“I definitely expect to see a few Newcastle Jets players selected for the All Stars team and it-s not too far for Newcastle football fans to travel and watch the game as well, which is good.”
Middleby said he hoped to see the A-League All Stars match become an annual fixture on the Australian football calendar.
“With the long off-season that we have in Australia, it is especially important to break things up with fixtures like this, that keep interest in the A-League at a high level,” he said.
