Jesic says confidence the key

He-s been hailed for his pre-season success but Jets striker, Marko Jesic maintains no goals have been scored alone.

Jesic has been instrumental in Newcastle-s trial match success, not only finding the back of the net on multiple occasions but playing an unselfish support role.

Jesic remains grounded in his success and believes that, although happy with how he has been playing recently, he wouldn-t have been able to do it without those around him on the field.

“I wouldn-t have been able to do it without my team; it-s all been a team effort,” he said.

“Confidence is the key. If you-re not confident, you-re not going to get anywhere.”

With each passing week the team grows stronger, working succinctly to achieve the impressive results they-ve been maintaining during the recent pre-season games, including last week-s 9-0 win over NSW Premier League team, Bankstown.

“The more games we play the better and stronger we become as a team. Everything is pointing in the right direction,” Jesic added.

Although Kasey Wehrman and Jason Culina are both still out injured and Ben Kantarovski has been overseas playing with the Socceroos, the Jets still house some serious talent.

With Jesic-s current form and experienced campaigner, Nikolai Topor-Stanley emerging as one of the team-s most valuable players and squad leaders, they have little holding them back.

On pre-season form there is good reason for high hopes of a successful season ahead.
