Adelaide United have taken another step in building their exciting squad, with Jeronimo Neumann signing on for two more years.
After seven years playing professionally in his homeland, split up by a year in England at Barnsley, Neumann has quickly become a crowd favourite at Hindmarsh, with four goals from eight starts, and the Argentine said it was an easy decision to extend terms with the club.
“From the first day here everyone has been so good to me – the owners, management, the staff, the coaches and the players have accepted me so well,” Neumann said.
“But what has been amazing is the way the fans have made me feel so welcome and a part of the club so quickly. Everything has been very good so far it-s a great club and a great city and that-s why I decided to stay for a longer time here.
“I now look forward to focus on my football and do my best for the team”.
Reds football director, Michael Petrillo said the Neumann signing was more proof that the club is moving in the right direction.
”It-s terrific to see players of the quality of Jeronimo come into the A-League in the first instance and even better when they stick around for longer terms,” Petrillo said.
“To have “Jero” here for the next two seasons speaks volumes for the club and what we are trying to build here. Negotiations went very smoothly and we have only been awaiting his release from his previous club Sol de America in Paraguay which arrived last night”.
Neumann will remain a Red until 30 April 2015 and is the second major re-signing for the Club after securing Cassio for a further two seasons last month.
