Perth Glory striker Branko Jelic has been released from the final season of his contract by mutual consent with the club on Monday afternoon.
Serbian striker Jelic had played with the Glory for two injury-interrupted campaigns but had struggled to cement his position in the side, especially last season when former Liverpool hitman Robbie Fowler was recruited to the club.
Despite Fowler opting not to stay in Perth this season, opportunities for Jelic would probably have been limited once again with Shane Smeltz and Travis Dodd being recruited by the side after their second-last finish in 2010-11.
The 34-year-old finished his time with the Glory with 33 appearances to his name and seven goals.
“I wish Branko all the very best with his football and thank him for his support and contribution”, Glory coach Ian Ferguson said on the club’s website.
Jelic has previously played in the German Bundesliga with Energie Cottbus and also with Beijing Guoan in China.
