Melbourne Victory boss Jeff Hopkins named March Coach of the Month after fan vote

Melbourne Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins has claimed the Ninja A-League March Coach of the Month award after a fan vote.

Hopkins claimed Coach of the Month honours with a majority share of the fan vote, beating Adelaide United’s Adrian Stenta, Melbourne City’s Michael Matricciani and Newcastle Jets’ Ryan Campbell to win the March award.

The Victory head coach was nominated for the March award via Football Coaches Australia’s monthly nomination process.

Australian Professional Leagues (APL) partnered with FCA in 2022-23 to give fans a crucial say in recognising outstanding coaching performances across both the Ninja A-League Women and Isuzu UTE A-League Men.

The FCA assembled an experienced panel that select the monthly nominees for Coach of the Month in both leagues; a fan vote then decides the winner from the monthly nominees.

The March eligibility period included Rounds 17-20 of the Ninja A-League season, with games between February 28 and March 26 considered by the FCA Panel when voting for the Coach of the Month nominees.

Hopkins oversaw three games in the eligibility period, and registered three wins.
