Former Bulls star Jed Drew earns January Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year nomination

Former Macarthur Bulls forward Jed Drew has earned the January nomination for Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a blistering month in the Isuzu UTE A-League before his move to Austrian top-flight side TSV Hartberg was confirmed in early February.

Drew scored three goals and added two assists to his season tally throughout January; he remains the Isuzu UTE A-League’s leading assist supplier in 2024-25, with his seven for the season the most of any player in the competition heading into Round 18.

The former Bulls winger also scored six goals before his overseas move; with 13 score involvements in 13 games, only Sydney FC’s Joe Lolley (14 – nine goals, five assists) has more at this stage of the season.

The Isuzu UTE A-League Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year award is an annual prize awarded to the competition’s best young player from either Australia or New Zealand aged 23 and under; this season, players born no earlier than January 1 2001 are eligible for the award.

Drew was named Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year January nominee via a panel appointed by the Australian Professional Leagues (APL).

The panel features an assortment of media representatives and technical football experts, who vote on a 3-2-1 basis at the conclusion of each nominated monthly period throughout the season.

Drew joins Adelaide United striker Archie Goodwin (December) and Melbourne Victory winger Nishan Velupillay (October/November) as the third player nominated for the award so far this season.
