Jacewicz to officiate Westfield W-League Grand Final

Football Federation Australia today announced that Referee Kate Jacewicz will lead the team of Match Officials appointed to control the Westfield W-League 2016 Grand Final.

This will be the seventh time that  Jacewicz has refereed the Westfield W-League Grand Final in the eight season history of the competition.

FFA Director of Referees Ben Wilson  praised  Jacewicz for her record breaking achievement and congratulated all the named match officials on their prestigious appointment.

“Kate is our most experienced Westfield W-League Referee and has once again had an outstanding season. All six Match Officials have refereed very well throughout the season and I wish to congratulate them all on their appointment.

“The Westfield W-League Grand Final is the pinnacle of the Westfield W-League season and I hope all the Match Officials enjoy the experience.”

Jacewicz said she was excited about the match but said she wouldn’t approach it any differently.

“Of course with any big event comes an element of excitement. I look forward to every match but there is something special about refereeing the Westfield W-League Grand Final.

“I will prepare for the match the same way I prepare for every other match. I like to stay relaxed and enjoy the lead up to the match by having a coffee with my team; I try not to get caught up in the emotion of the event.

“Finding the motivation is easy when you love what you do and the women’s football community makes it a joy to be a part of.

Joining Jacewicz at the Westfield W-League 2016 Grand Final are Assistant Referees Laura Moya and Renae Coghill, Fourth Official Danielle Anderson and Additional Assistant Referees Rebecca Durcau and Kelly Jones.
