The Sky Blues were named AS Roma’s ‘Team of the Day’ on Twitter on Saturday, a popular segment that the Italian giants have been running for the past few months.

Sydney become the first club from the Westfield W-League to have a spotlight shone on them but not the first from Australasia with Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix featuring earlier this season.

Roma had clearly done their research as well, citing Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr as the club’s most famous alumni after the now Perth Glory striker spent two seasons in the Harbour City.
