Head coach: Ruben Zadkovich
Stadium: HBF Park/Macedonia Park
2021-22 position: 12th
It was a season to forget for the Glory, who sacked head coach Richard Garcia and finished bottom of the table, though they showed signs of improvement under Zadkovich.

Commentator’s call
Simon Hill
“Last season was a tough baptism for Ruben Zadkovich in his first few months as a head coach but this year he’ll be judged on results.
“With 14 players in and 12 players out that’s quite a turnover. Importantly there is plenty of experience and wisdom around him. Glory made it a policy last season to go with a lot of young Western Australian talent to give the club that identity and I particularly like Giordano Colli, I think he’s got a fair bit of potential like Ciaran Bramwell as well.
There’s a clutch of players there that have a lot of potential and I expect improvements this season.

Ex-player’s view
Daniel McBreen
“It will be interesting to see how playing out of Macedonia Park pans out. That could actually galvanise them, being a smaller field with their home fans closer to the action in a tighter venue.
“Ruben Zadkovich, it will be a big year for him. Last season was just an absolute debacle with the manager being sacked halfway through and him coming in, and it just got worse and worse. He was a fiery player, I know that much, but he’s a little bit more measured off the field than that. He’s a guy that wants to give young players a chance, he wants to play an attractive style of football.
“He’ll give kids a go. I spoke to him at the end of last season and he said that for him, reputation doesn’t mean anything. It’s about who is performing, and if they’re performing they’ll get their chance.
They can be confident of doing something they can be proud of this year. I think you have to be realistic and say where they finished last year, their number one aim this year is to be challenging for finals. Top six should be what they see as a success this season.
