Spanish midfielder named Adelaide’s player of the season

Adelaide United captain Isaias has been named the club’s Hyundai A-League Player of the Season following a superb campaign for Marco Kurz’s side.  

The annual ceremony was held at the National Wine Centre, with IsaĆ­as receiving the award for the second consecutive season and has now won the prestigious accolade a club-record three times since becoming a Red in 2013.

The 31-year-old was also presented the Stillwell Hyundai Membersā€™ Player of the Year, voted by the clubā€™s members after every round.

IsaĆ­as, who featured in 25 regular season games, said he was honoured to have won the award.

ā€œIā€™m very proud to receive this award,ā€ he said. ā€œI must thank my teammates for their support this season and I know I wouldnā€™t have been able to achieve this without them. 

ā€œUnfortunately we could not progress further this season into the Finals, but it was a good learning experience for us and I am sure we will do better next season.ā€ 

Nathan Konstandopoulos collected the Hyundai A-League Rising Star award following a breakout campaign that saw the young midfielder put together a string of impressive performances.

Ryan Kitto claimed the Hyundai A-League Golden Boot after scoring seven goals in 24 regular season matches from the wing, while Makenzy Doniak secured the Golden Boot with seven goals for the Reds in the Westfield W-league.

Isaac Richards and Charlie Devereux were named as duel winners of the Youth Player of the Year Award.

Daniel Adlungā€™s thunderous half-volley against the Central Coast Mariners in the teamā€™s 2-1 win in Round 7 was voted the Adelaide United Goal of the Year by fans.
