Melbourne City claimed a third-straight Westfield W-League title but the win was somewhat soured with Matildas star Kyah Simon forced off with a hamstring injury.
Jess Fishlock and Jodie Taylor netted goals in either half as City claimed a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
But in a worry for the Matildas, Simon went down clutching her leg and had to be substituted just past the hour mark.

Australia are set to depart for Portugal later this week ahead of their first Algarve Cup match against Norway on March 1.
“I felt a bit of a tweak there as I sprinted. I was nursing it a little bit going into the game,” Simon told Fox Sports.
“I’m just going to have to ice it up and give myself the best opportunity to get on that plane and go away.
“But I’m just going to enjoy this moment with the girls for now.”
