Scans have confirmed Melbourne Victory defender Daniel Georgievski suffered a fractured collarbone during Monday night’s clash with Wellington Phoenix.

Georgievski was substituted out of the match against the Phoenix at Etihad Stadium after colliding heavily with Jacob Tratt early in the second half.

He will have surgery today (Tuesday) to repair the damage, with an estimated return date to be determined following the procedure.

The injury is similar in nature to the one which sidelined James Troisi after Victory’s opening round match against Brisbane Roar.

Victory plays Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium this Saturday night in Round 5.
