Injury blow: Roar midfielder undergoes surgery

Brisbane Roar attacker Brett Holman has been ruled out of football for up to six weeks due to a knee injury.

Holman has had minor surgery on his knee to repair a small tear in his meniscus after feeling some discomfort following the game against Western Sydney Wanderers last Friday night.

It was decided that having surgery immediately to fix the issue was the best course of action so that he will be fully fit for the second half of the Hyundai A-League season and Roar’s AFC Asian Champions League campaign in early February.

Holman has played all eight games for the Roar this season, scoring one goal.Â
