Adelaide United has confirmed that promising young defender Jordan Elsey has ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
Elsey, who made a successful return from the same injury in November of 2015, has suffered another rupture.
Speaking on Elsey’s injury, the Club’s doctor, Dr James Ilic, said: “Jordan has ruptured the ACL in his left knee. It was a non-contact injury.
“We’re discussed the situation with Jordan and his family about what we believe to be the best course of action, and the decision has been made that we will perform a full reconstruction as soon as possible.”
The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakout year with the Reds in 2015/16, playing 17 matches for the club as Gui Amor’s side claimed their first Hyundai A-League title.
