Adelaide United 2-1 Melbourne Victory
Cross-code star Jenna McCormick scored the winner for Adelaide United helping the Reds defeat Melbourne Victory 2-1 on Friday night to end their season on a high.
McCormick, who also plays in the AFL Women’s comp, scored a second-half winner after US star Makenzy Doniak had opened the scoring for the Reds.
Rising star Kyra Cooney-Cross equalised for Victory before the break.
Newcastle Jets 0-3 Melbourne City
A rampant Melbourne City booked a spot in the Westfield W-League finals following a dominant 3-0 win over Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday night.
Jodie Taylor, Aivi Luik and Yukari Kinga on target for City as they stormed into the finals next weekend.
The Jets were already assured of finals football after last week’s thumping win over Canberra United.
Sydney FC 4-1 Western Sydney Wanderers
The Sky Blues sent an ominous warning to the rest of the Westfield W-League after smashing Western Sydney Wanderers 4-1 in the Sydney Derby on Sunday.
With the finals kicking off next week, the Sydney women looked in ominous form at Seymour Shaw.
In the first-half, goals to Chloe Logarzo, Caitlin Cooper and Caitlin Foord blew away the Wanderers giving Sydney an unassailable lead.
Remy Siemsen made it 4-0 in the second half before Wanderers’ Maruschka Waldus scored a consolation goal in the final few minutes.
Brisbane Roar 4-1 Canberra United
Brisbane Roar will head into next week’s finals in winning form after defeating Canberra United 4-1 on Sunday.
Westfield Matildas duo Hayley Raso and Emily Gielnik got on the scoresheet for Roar, with Abbey Lloyd netting a second-half brace.
Norwegian Elise Thorsnes grabbed a consolation for Canberra in the second half.
