Hyundai Ins and Outs: Round 25

The Sydney Derby headlines a bumper Round 25 of the Hyundai A-League and there is a major boost for Western Sydney Wanderers, with one of their favourite sons set to return for the home side.

Veteran attacker Mark Bridge – who will retire from top-level football at the end of the season – has been named in Markus Babbel’s squad to face his former club Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night (kick-off 7.50pm AEST).

It has been a frustrating season with injury for Bridge, but he will be desperate to play in his final derby, as well as needing just two more appearances to reach 250 games in the Hyundai A-League.

Elsewhere, Melbourne Victory will be boosted by the return of four key players – including ‘keeper Lawrence Thomas and import Raul Baena – for their clash against the Mariners, keen to bounce back from their Big Blue defeat to Sydney FC last weekend.

There’s a key defensive hardman returning for Melbourne City to take on his former club Adelaide, but Perth Glory will be without one of their Caltex Socceroos stars for the visit of Newcastle Jets.
