After seeing red the last time the Harbour City rivals met, Daniel Georgievski returns from suspension in what would be a historic Sydney Derby if Western Sydney Wanderers can claim another win.
No club on either side of the Sydney divide have ever won three straight derbies in the history of the fixture and interim coach Jean-Paul de Marigny has Keanu Baccus, Kwame Yeboah and Patrick Ziegler to call on for Saturday’s clash at Bankwest Stadium.
The Hyundai A-League’s runaway leaders, Sydney FC, will take solace in the fact that Wanderers’ midfield general Pirmin Schwegler is serving a ban, while Michael Zullo and Chris Zuvela come back into the frame for Steve Corica’s Sky Blues.
Tommy Oar and Kye Rowles are back for the Central Coast Mariners as the weekend’s action kicks off in Gosford on Friday night, while visitors Melbourne City bring the returning Rostyn Griffiths and Adrian Luna with them on the trip north.
A late addition to this weekend’s line-up, Newcastle boss Carl Robinson welcomes back Abdiel Arroyo, Bernie Ibini, Kosta Petratos and Pat Langlois to boost his firepower as the Jets travel from the Hunter to face Robbie Fowler’s Brisbane Roar at the Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium.
Read on for all of the important team news for every match this weekend.
