Two of the biggest names in global football come together when David Beckham and LA Galaxy come head to head with local superstar Harry Kewell and Melbourne Victory in December. This historic clash takes place thanks to Hyundai Motor Company Australia, which has announced an exclusive naming rights sponsorship of the December blockbuster, further endorsing Hyundai-s strong support for the development and promotion of football in Australia.
The Hyundai Club Challenge Melbourne, to be played on 6th December at Etihad Stadium, will feature football superstars Harry Kewell, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan with David Beckham visiting Melbourne for the first time to play in the match between his U.S. team LA Galaxy and the Hyundai A-League-s Melbourne Victory Football Club.
This is the second time Hyundai has sponsored the Club Challenge. In November 2007, Hyundai supported the L.A. Galaxy vs. Sydney F.C. exhibition match again featuring David Beckham and current Qantas Socceroo Alex Brosque.
A capacity crowd of 56,000 is expected to pack Melbourne-s Etihad Stadium for the exhibition match, which sees a showdown between Beckham – the most famous football player in the world – and Harry Kewell – one of Australia’s best and most popular players. Tickets are selling fast with close to 50% already sold.
“Hyundai is proud to bring David Beckham and the LA Galaxy to team to face off against Melbourne Victory,” said Oliver Mann, Hyundai Motor Company Australia-s Director of Marketing. “It will unquestionably be a world-class display of talent and passion for the beautiful game.-
An exciting program of match entertainment will include a half-time giveaway of a brand new Hyundai ix35 to be won by one lucky crowd member.
