Hyundai A-League’s new social media stars

With his over 700k followers on Twitter alone, Tim Cahill of Melbourne City and the Caltex Socceroos is the undoubted King of social media for football in Oz.

But we reckon there’s a Sydney FC star who’s making a strong charge to the top of the social standings.

And there are a few new faces this season who post quality bantz that you should be following.

Have we missed anyone?

Filip Holosko

Dancing to Justin Timberlake on his Sydney home’s roof with his adorable family is one of the more likable vids you’ll see this season (he’s got some moves, you’d have to agree).

Posting hilarious Christmas party images from Sydney FC was simply brilliant.

Add a Coldplay gigs and plenty of love for his Turkish fans and Holosko has it all for his over 70K Twitter followers and over 26K on Insta.

We love the Sky Blue forward on social. We think you will too.

Tim Cahill

The Melbourne City star loves his Twitter and Instagram and offers plenty for his huge following.

Whether it’s on the pitch or at home with his family – and young puppy Hudson – Cahill loves to have fun and share all his experiences.

Danny Vukovic

One of the real characters on Twitter from the Hyundai A-League. The Sydney FC gloveman tells it how it is and doesn’t mind some  good-hearted banter with players from rival clubs as well.

Good for some funny one-liners too.

Robbie Cornthwaite

He’s only just forced his way back into the Wanderers starting side but “Corndog’ is already becoming a cult hero in Western Sydney.

A good, ol’-fashioned central defender and it’s the same with his Instagram and Twitter, no nonsense and straight to the point. Not afraid to poke a bit of fun at himself too.

We’re big fans of Corndog, one of the most likable Aussies around.

Taylor Regan

Another great character of the competition, “Reegs” is great at providing entertainment in his tweets.

The Adelaide United defender doesn’t take himself too seriously, but can also have fun at his team-mates expense…as Mark Ochieng can testify to.

Shane Smeltz

The best thing about Smeltzy being back in the Hyundai A-League is not just his goal-scoring talent with Wellington Phoenix but also his game on Instagram and Twitter.

A genuine good guy with a love of football, family and coffee. A pretty good Kiwi sense of humour too.

Now Archie has retired, Troisi is the man to follow for Melbourne Victory fans.

The playmaker keeps his followers on both Twitter and Instagram updated on everything going on at the club.

Corey Gameiro

The 23-year-old may have spent the best part of the past three seasons out injured but the City forward still likes to make his presence felt on social media.

The former Olyroo has had no shortage of well wishes from players and fans as he recovers from his third knee reconstruction and is appreciative of all the support he’s received.

Congrats boys ! Thanks to all the fans who came to cheer us on! ?
