Hyundai A-League transfers: top 5 off-season signings

Most Hyundai A-League squads are beginning to take shape but which team has made the best signing in the off-season?

We take a look at five of the best.

Wout Brama (Central Coast Mariners)

With over 300 games of experience in the Netherlands with FC Twente, PEC Zwolle and FC Utrecht, the Dutch midfielder will bring experience and solidity to the base of the Central Coast engine-room.

Mark Milligan (Melbourne Victory)

Having captained the Caltex Socceroos at the Confederations Cup, the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League Premiership and Championship double-winning midfielder returns as marquee to the club he played 81 games for across four seasons.

Melbourne Victory have signed Caltex Socceroo Mark Milligan.

Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney FC)

The 40-time Polish international midfielder brings extensive experience to the Sky Blues, having played in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League for Turkish side Trabzonspor, as well as in the AFC Champions League for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Álvaro Cejudo (Western Sydney Wanderers)

Doing his best work in the right-wing role, the Spanish front man will boost Tony Popovic’s attacking stocks in the season ahead, having notched up 155 La Liga appearances with Real Betis and Osasuna.

His partnership with fellow Spaniard Oriol Riera could be key for WSW this season.

Johan Absalonsen (Adelaide United)

The winger looks to be a shrewd pick-up for the Reds with the 31-year-old Danish international having spent more than a decade in the top flight of his homeland.

Danish winger Johan Absalonsen arrives at Adelaide United with 378 games worth of experience.

Excellent on the ball and with pace to burn, Absalonsen has already shown his class with a stunning long-range strike in Adelaide’s FFA Cup win over Melbourne Victory.
