Hyundai A-League transfer update

The transfers and new signings continue in earnest in the Hyundai A-League. Here’s a re-cap of all the big acquisitions over the last six weeks.

Here’s an update of all the movements in the Hyundai A-League since late May until now, with all clubs now back in pre-season training ahead of the 2017/18 Season.

Adelaide United

*George Blackwood – new Reds boss Marco Kurz made his first signing since taking the reins, capturing the young striker from Sydney FC.

Central Coast Mariners

*Daniel De Silva – the young Aussie playmaker is back in the Hyundai A-League, joining the Gosford club on a three-year deal.

*Tom Hiariej – the Dutch midfielder joins the club from FC Groningen, where he was a teammate to Caltex Socceroos Jason Davidson and Ajdin Hrustic.

*Alan Baro – the experienced defender moved to the club after being released by Victory.

*Antony Golec – back in the Hyundai A-League after spending the last couple of years abroad, most recently in Korea with Bucheon FC.

*Andrew Hoole – joins the club after sending last season with the Jets.

*Ben Kennedy – made the short journey down the F3 from Newcastle Jets.

*Kye Rowles – the youngster joins the club from Brisbane Roar.

*Josh Rose – back to the club after spending last season at Melbourne City.

Melbourne Victory

*Kosta Barbarouses – Back at the ‘Big V’ after a season with Wellington Phoenix.

Newcastle Jets

*Nikolai Topor-Stanley – back in the Hyundai A-League and in the Hunter after spending last season with Hatta in the UAE.

*Dimitri Petratos – joins the club after a short stint in Korea with Ulsan.

Western Sydney Wanderers

*Oriol Riera – the striker heads to Wanderers from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna on a two-year marquee deal.

Oriol Riera is already looking forward to playing in the Sydney Derby.

*Chris Herd – the 28-year-old midfielder has joined Western Sydney after spending last season at English League One side Gillingham.

*Marc Tokich – the highly-rated teenager gets his first crack at the Hyundai A-League on a two-year deal, coming from the FFA Centre of Excellence (FFA COE) in Canberra.

Melbourne City

*Iacopo La Rocca – the Italian hardman is City’s latest signing, joining the club after two year’s at Adelaide United.

*Scott Jamieson – returns to the Hyundai A-League after spending last season in Sweden with IFK Goteborg.

Perth Glory

*Mitch Nichols – returns for a second stint in the west after being released by the Wanderers.

Sydney FC

*Paulo Retre – joins the reigning champions after being released by Melbourne City.

Wellington Phoenix

*Scott Galloway – the defender moves across the ditch after playing for the Mariners last season.

Brisbane Roar

*Corey Gameiro – joined from Melbourne City.
