The Copa America Centenario currently taking place in the US boasts some of the biggest names in world football and teams in world football.
The likes of Lionel Messi and James Rodriguez get the headlines but there are some stars without the same kind of global reputations who could get pulses racing in the Hyundai A-League.
Jhasmani Campos (Bolivia)
Bolivia have some tough luck in the group stage.
Their two games against Panana and Chile were both heading for 1-1 draws before the opposition scored late and in the case of Chile very late indeed with the equaliser coming in the tenth minute of injury time.
The highlight of the team’s stay in the United States was a marvellous free-kick goal from Jhasmani Campos against Chile, one of the goals of the group stage.
It was a left-footed rocket that swerved , dipped and flew into the top-right corner of the net –simply unstoppable.
It is the kind of goal that would have the media in Australia purring for months.
The 28 year-old winger plays his club football in Kuwait, a country still banned from the international game by FIFA.
A move to Australia may be just what the doctor ordered to get over the disappointment of the early exit.
Wilker Angel (Venezuela)
Venezuela eased into the last eight on the back of two clean sheets.
The first brought a nice opening 1-0 victory over Jamaica but the second shocked the continent as Uruguay, one of the pre-tournament favourites were defeated.
Angel, just 23, gave an assured performance in the middle of the defence against the likes of Luis Suarez.
Aggressive but disciplined, good in the air and the ground, Angel has a bright future and is expected to leave his homeland and Deportivo Tachira before too long.
Sure to be a star in Australia, it may be worth a quick phone call.
Miguel Trauco (Peru)
Peru topping Group their group was something of a surprise but when you have left-backs in top form like Trauco then perhaps it is not so strange after all.
His performance against Brazil was immense and the 25 year-old helped to ensure that the Selecao had little to no joy down his side of the pitch.
He’s not bad going forward too and his energy helped his team immensely.
Still only 23, he has a bright future and a move overseas likely to happen sooner rather than later.
Arturo Mina, (Ecuador)
Ecuador were unbeaten in the group stage and a big reason for that was the performances of this powerful centre-back.
Has struggled in the past to find a regular spot in the backline for his country but that is unlikely to be the case any longer.
Apart from an unfocused opening 15 minutes of the 2-2 draw with group winners Peru, Ecuador have not conceded.
Mina has been commanding at the back and has a maturity that was not always present in the past.
Currently with Independiente DV in his homeland, the 25 year-old is open to a move and is already attracting interest from elsewhere in South America and Europe.
Alejandro Guerra (Venezuela)
The experienced midfielder may be the wrong side of the 30, just, but has plenty of energy.
Has helped his team going forward on numerous and game-changing occasions and been valuable helping out at the back too.
Excellent in possession and rarely giving the ball away, Guerra was not only one of the standouts of his team as Venezuela reached the last eight, conceding just once along the way, but has been one of the standouts in the entire competition so far.
Has spent all his career in South America; it may be time for a change?
