Hyundai A-League: three key ins ahead of weekend’s games

There are two crucial games this weekend to conclude the split Round 22 in the Hyundai A-League.

We look at three important inclusions for sides chasing top six spots.

Roly Bonevacia (WSW)

The Dutchman returns from a one-game suspension to face his former club and help continue Western Sydney’s push for a finals series spot.

Bonevacia has been practically ever-present during his first season with the Wanderers and leads the side in the metrics of attempted passes and dribbles, while he is also the most fouled Western Sydney player.

Brendon Santalab (WSW)

The popular striker missed last weekend’s clash against Perth Glory through injury but returns to face his favourite foe.

“Santa” has scored eight times in his past five meetings with Wellington and may well be introduced from the bench by Josep Gombau, as he has 14 times already this season.

Chris Harold (Perth Glory)

The livewire striker has missed the last three matches with a quad injury, but returns for Glory’s critical clash with Central Coast.

With Spanish maestro Diego Castro set to sit out the match as he recovers from a niggling calf injury, Harold looms as a potential replacement in the front three.

The agile winger has scored four times against the Mariners and grabbed a brace at Brisbane Roar shortly before his injury.
