As far as debut seasons in the Hyundai A-League go, there have not been many as impressive as Liberato Cacace’s for Wellington Phoenix.
The Kiwi teenager, still only 18, put in one adventurous performance after the other, leaving seasoned veterans in his trail – including Melbourne Victory star Keisuke Honda.
Like Cacace, Perth Glory’s Jason Davidson played a crucial role as the nominal left wing-back for his side. In his first season in the Hyundai A-League, Davidson registered six assists and was generally exceptional in Perth’s march to an inaugural Premiership.
You can’t rule out Scott Galloway‘s excellent year for Adelaide United either. Galloway – who has since signed for Melbourne City – enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Reds, and very rarely put a foot wrong for Marco Kurz’s battlers.
Vote for your left-back of the year in the poll below. Each player must have played at least 15 games.
