The coaches and players have given Brisbane Roar plenty of respect, insisting they are the benchmark and still the team to beat, while their biggest rivals in recent times, Perth Glory and Central Coast Mariners seem to be flying under the radar.
The predicted big movers appear to be Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets who have all made major signings with the additions of Marcos Flores, Alessandro Del Piero and Emile Heskey respectively, while new boys Western Sydney Wanderers have snared Shinji Ono.
Teams like Wellington, who have been solid in recent years and Adelaide, who are coming off the back of an impressive AFC Champions League run should not be forgotten.
