Both sides are coming off the back of positive wins but neither have been necessarily consistent or convincing so far this season.
They Jets look to be the furthest down the road to a coherent unit, with youngsters like Craig Goodwin and James Virgili starting to learn how to make the most of marquee man Emile Heskey.
But following their win over Adelaide, the Victory players are in doubt as to the level of performance Ange Postecoglou expects.
Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix
Two form teams are set to face off and it-s hard to call a winner. John Kosmina has the Reds firing and looking dangerous, while Rickie Herbert has worked hard to improve Phoenix-s consistency away from home.
Kossie has recalled strikers Bruce Djite and Sergio van Dijk to give the Reds more presence against the Phoenix, while Wellington look to be at full strength in the first of their five away games.
Should be a cracker at Hindmarsh Stadium.
Brisbane Roar v Western Sydney Wanderers
Tony Popovic faces his toughest test as Wanderers boss, facing the two-time champions in their own back yard.
Roar thumped Victory the last time they played at Suncorp and the impressive Wanderers defence will have to be at their very best to keep the men in orange at bay.
Melbourne Heart v Central Coast Mariners
Two teams still looking for the best form. A win, a draw and a loss for John Aloisi means his side still have some way to go yet but they-ve remained competitive throughout.
Graham Arnold-s side may be premiers but they-ve struggled for goals so far and might find them hard to come by against an experience and battling Heart side.
Sydney FC v Perth Glory
Will Del Piero do it again for the Sky Blues? The Italian has been a class above so far this season, and says he-s not even at his best yet.
But Perth won-t make it easy and represent a serious physical challenge to Sydney, despite Glory-s denial that their game is based on power. Probably the most fascinating game of the round.
