An entertaining affair in Gosford was decided early in the second half as two quick goals from the Mariners was enough to snap the club’s winless run (their last win was in late November in Round 8). A crucial result for Paul Okon’s side to keep their fading finals hopes alive. Keeper Liam Reddy saw red for the visitors (and was waved off by Mariners skipper and former teammate Nick Montgomery).

An absorbing contest at Suncorp delivered more trademark late drama as Roar clinched victory in stoppage-time against the 10-man Wanderers, who had right-back Scott Neville sent off in the second half. The returning Brett Holman was the hero for the home side smashing the winner with a long bomb that bamboozled the otherwise excellent Vedran Janjetovic.

On a scorching afternoon in Adelaide with temps nudging 40 degrees requiring two drinks break in each half, the Reds and Nix put on a thriller. There were first Hyundai A-League goals for a couple of Adelaide youngsters, while Phoenix left-back Tom Doyle scored a contender for goal of the season at Coopers Stadium.
