Striker Filip Holosko with four first half goals inside 20 minutes set the tone on a rainy night at Leichhardt Oval.
New signing from Italy Australian Josh Brillante got some minutes as did Caltex Socceroo Alex Wilkinson in what was the Sky Blues’ first friendly since starting pre-season three weeks ago.
Recently re-signed Matt Simon led the line. Milos Ninkovic, Aaron Calver, George Blackwood and new signing Michael Zullo were all unavailable for the match.

And on Wednesday night, Newcastle Jets’ planned friendly with a local NPL select side was called off due to a waterlogged surface at Magic Park in Broadmeadow.
Club CEO Lawrie McKinna told the Newcastle Herald he was keen to have the game played later in pre-season, possibly in August or September, depending on how that would fit into the Jets’ planned tour of China which is still to be finalised, local NPL clubs’ commitments and the Jets’ FFA Cup campaign.
