Hyundai A-League pre-season fixtures

The countdown is on! There’s less than a month to go until the new Hyundai A-League season gets underway and all 10 clubs are ramping up their preparations.

Here’s a guide to your club’s upcoming pre-season fixtures as we edge closer to October 6.

Adelaide United

The Reds have a Westfield FFA Cup quarter final to look forward to next, as they face PS4 NPL Victorian club Heidelberg United next Wednesday, September 13.

The match will be played at Olympic Village in Melbourne, kicking off at 7.30pm AEST.

Brisbane Roar

John Aloisi’s side face local outfit Olympic FC on Saturday afternoon at Goodwin Park.

Central Coast Mariners

Next up for the Mariners is a clash with Wellington Phoenix in Gosford on Tuesday, September 12. Kick off is 7pm. 

Melbourne City

City continue their Westfield FFA Cup title defence when they take on Sydney FC next Wednesday, September 13, in a blockbuster quarter final.

The clash – a replay of last year’s Cup final – kicks off at 7.30pm at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney.

Warren Joyce’s troops are also scheduled to take on Western Sydney Wanderers at McEwen Reserve in Shepparton on Friday, September 22.

Melbourne Victory

Newcastle Jets

Newcastle’s impressive pre-season steps up over the next couple of weeks.

The Jets play defending Hyundai A-League champions Sydney FC at Wanderers Oval, Broadmeadow on Saturday, September 9.

They then back up a week later with a clash against coach Ernie Merrick’s former club Wellington Phoenix at Cessnock on Saturday, September 16.

Perth Glory

Glory’s next pre-season fixture is likely to be their traditional clash against a WA State Team, although the venue and date for that game is yet to be confirmed.
 

Sydney FC

The Sky Blues have a busy few days ahead, starting with a clash against the Jets on Saturday, September 9 at in Broadmeadow.

Graham Arnold’s side will then be out for revenge against Melbourne City in the Westfield FFA Cup quarter final on Wednesday night at Leichhardt Oval.

Wellington Phoenix

Phoenix are about to start a tour of NSW which will involve three matches over the next week.

It starts with a friendly against a PS4 NPL side on Sunday, September 10 before taking on the Mariners in Gosford on September 13 and then the Jets in Cessnock on September 16.

Once they are back in Wellington the ‘Nix wrap their pre-season with two games against National League side Team Wellington on September 23 and 30.

Western Sydney Wanderers

Tony Popovic’s men have been on a pre-season camp in Queensland and end it on Saturday, September 9 with a clash against local NPL club Moreton Bay United.

The match at Wolter Park kicks off at 5pm.

The Wanderers then have a Western Sydney derby in the Westfield FFA Cup as they take on Blacktown City in the quarter finals on Wednesday, September 20.

They are also scheduled to play Melbourne City at McEwen Reserve, Shepparton on Friday, September 22.
