Uruguayan star Bruno Fornaroli scored four goals as Melbourne City opened their pre-season schedule with a 10-0 win over PS4 NPL Victoria side Oakleigh Cannons on Tuesday night.

Warren Joyce’s side scored five in each half to make light work of the Cannons, with Fornaroli stealing the show with four goals, while Nick Fitzgerald finished with a brace.
Youngster Denis Genreau, Caltex Socceroo Luke Brattan, playmaker Anthony Caceres and NPL product Nathaniel Atkinson also got on the scoresheet.
In what was Joyce’s first match in charge of City, he put out a strong starting 11, only making his first change eight minutes from full-time.
It was an encouraging first hit-out for the Hyundai A-League side, who next face another PS4 NPL Victorian club Bentleigh Greens next Tuesday, July 25 at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.
City then travels to Queensland a week later for their Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 clash against Peninsula Power.
