A pair of round eight braces added to the logjam at the top in the race for the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Golden Boot award.
Here’s how the competition’s leading marksmen stack up the latest round of matches.
7 goals: Roy O’Donovan (Newcastle Jets)
The Irishman’s red hot start to the season still has him on top of the pile despite missing the last two matches with a groin injury.
5 goals: Bobo (Sydney FC), Andrija Kaludjerovic (Wellington Phoenix), Ross McCormack (Melbourne City)
McCormack’s eye-catching free-kick against Perth Glory took him equal second in the Golden Boot race.
Kaludjerovic was starved of opportunities in Phoenix’s loss to Central Coast, while Bobo only played five minutes off the bench against Brisbane Roar.
4 goals: Ryan Kitto (Adelaide United), Andrew Nabbout (Newcastle Jets), Dimitri Petratos (Newcastle Jets), Oriol Riera (Western Sydney Wanderers), Dario Vidosic (Wellington Phoenix)
Kitto’s brace against WSW made it three goals in two games for the Adelaide United youngster, while Nabbout’s two goals against his former club Melbourne Victory also doubled his season tally.
Vidosic scored his fourth goal of the season, all of which have been headers, but Riera and Petratos couldn’t add to their tallies in their sides’ respective defeats.
