Western Sydney Wanderers marquee Oriol Riera has claimed this week’s Hyundai A-League Goal of the Week, as voted by the fans.
The Spanish striker claimed the award for his powerful headed effort in Wanderers’ 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar on Saturday night.
With Wanderers awarded a free-kick on the right, Alvaro Cejudo whipped in a wonderfully flighted ball which allowed Riera to attack the space and bury a sizzling header past a stranded Jamie Young.
The goal helped spark the Wanderers with Riera scoring again ten minutes later before Chris Ikonomidis found the target to seal a huge win for Josep Gombau’s side.
Riera’s strike was the clear choice among the fans with more than 70% of respondents voting his goal as the top strike for Round 26.
