Adelaide United winger Johan Absalonsen has taken out the Hyundai A-League Goal of the Week for Round 24, as voted by the fans.
The Danish star took out the prize for his stunning volley in the Reds 5-2 demolition of the Newcastle Jets at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.
With his side leading 3-1 with 20 minutes left, Absalonsen put the result to bed with a moment of magic which sent the Adelaide fans into raptures.
He arrived perfectly at the far post to meet Michael Marrone’s floated cross, showing wonderful technique to produce a sublime left-footed volley into the top corner.

It put the icing on a man-of-the-match display from Absalonsen, which included an assist for Daniel Adlung’s opener in the first-half.
Absalonsen’s cracking strike earned a dominant 68% of the fan vote to easily claim this week’s prize.
Brett Holman’s eye-catching volley in Brisbane Roar’s 2-2 draw with Wellington was second with 17.3% of the vote, with Stefan Mauk of Melbourne City third with 14.7% for his goal against the Wanderers.
