Hyundai A-League friendly results and news

Superstar Bruno Fornaroli scored another incredible overhead kick for Melbourne City, Wayne Brown smashed a cracker for the Jets and Perth stunned the Philippines national team. Here’s your midweek Hyundai A-League friendly update.

City beat PS4 NPL Victorian outfit Melbourne Knights 4-0, with the Uruguayan scoring a hat-trick, including a stunning bicycle kick much like his effort against Perth Glory in last season’s Elimination Final.

New signing Manny Muscat also got on the scoresheet in the first half – his first goal for the club – with a tidy finish after excellent lead-up play by Bruce Kamau.

Kamau was one of City’s best on his first outing for the club since his switch from Adelaide, while new recruit Fernando Brandon also got 45 minutes under his for John van ‘t Schip’s troops.

But it was Fornaroli who stole the show at Knights Stadium as City warmed up nicely for their Westfield FFA Cup trip to Floreat Athena in Perth.
