Adelaide United
The Reds are playing in a behind-closed doors friendly against Melbourne City today (Wednesday). The club is also looking at a potential pre-season tour to Asia in coming weeks.
Brisbane Roar
John Aloisi’s side takes on Sydney FC in a behind-closed-doors friendly in Robina on Saturday. New recruit Thomas Kristensen is expected to have his first hit-out for the club against the Sky Blues.
Central Coast Mariners
The Mariners knocked off the Jets 2-1 in Tamworth over the weekend thanks to goals from new signings Blake Powell and Connor Pain. They are next in action against Rydalmere at the Centre of Excellence today (Wed) at 2pm.
Melbourne City
Following their friendly with Adelaide today, City’s next match will be the Westfield FFA Cup clash at Brisbane Strikers on Tuesday, August 24. Will this be the match we see Caltex Socceroo Tim Cahill in a City shirt for the first time?
Melbourne Victory
Victory cancelled their pre-season friendly with PS4 NPL Victoria club Hume City on Tuesday night, with the two sides paired together in the last 16 of the Westfield FFA Cup the following week. It will be the second straight year the two clubs have played in the Cup after Victory eliminated Hume in last year’s semi-final.
Newcastle Jets
The Jets, who lost to the Mariners on Saturday, will next be in action in China as part of the club’s pre-season tour. They depart on August 25 for games against Liaoning, Eastern FC from Hong Kong plus Shenzhen Renren.
Perth Glory
In a first for the Glory, Kenny Lowe’s troops will face a Western Australian State Team at Inglewood Stadium on Wednesday night. The sides will play for the inaugural Heritage Cup.
Sydney FC
The Sky Blues will warm up for their Westfield FFA Cup round of 16 clash at Perth Glory by taking on the Roar on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Wellington Phoenix
The Phoenix have a pre-season trip to Townsville set down for next month where they will take on fellow A-League club Melbourne City on September 11. The club is also hoping to take on a select side from New Zealand domestic football in the next fortnight as they gear up towards the start of the new season.
Western Sydney Wanderers
The Wanderers are off to the nation’s capital for their next pre-season clash, taking on Canberra FC at Deakin Stadium on Wednesday night. Tony Popovic’s side comes up against Edgeworth in the Westfield FFA Cup last 16 on Tuesday, August 30.
