Bruno Fornaroli (Melbourne City)
Cost: $581,000
Points last season: 206
Lasts season’s leading point scorer is a must for any fantasy side. The Uruguayan has shown himself to be a consistent goal-scorer (finishing with 25 last season) and with the squad City has assembled you would think there will be no slowing down from Fornaroli in 2016/17.

Bruno Fornaroli (Melbourne City)

Mitch Nichols (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Cost: $293,000
Points last season: 144
When you talk about value for money, Nichols is an absolute steal for your fantasy side. He was one of the Wanderers standout attacking players last season, playing every match and finished with 10 goals and four assists. Is sure to be another attacking force in the new campaign as well.

Diego Castro (Perth Glory)
Cost: $550,000
Points last season: 154
What an incredible debut season in the Hyundai A-League from this special Spaniard. Castro took the competition by storm, guiding the club to the finals with 13 goals, four assists and some amazing individual performances. The reigning Johnny Warren Medallist scored an average of 6.2 points per match in 2015/16. Impressive stuff!

Dylan McGowan (Adelaide United)
Cost:$359,000
Points last season: $106
The highest scoring defender from last season, McGowan is another must-have in a strong fantasy side. Not only is he a part of a defence that keeps a lot of clean sheets but he’s shown he can pop up with the odd goal and is also an excellent distributor, passing at an accuracy of almost 82 percent last season.

Kosta Barbarouses (Wellington Phoenix)
Cost: $281,000
Points last season: 110
The Kiwi international was sixth on the scoring charts last season and even though he’s at a new club in 2016/17, there’s nothing to suggest he won’t be a big scorer again. Blessed with blinding speed and a powerful shot, Barbarouses has it all to be a hit in fantasy land and is sure to be among the goals and assists for Ernie Merrick’s troops this season.

Wellington Phoenix's Gui Finkler, Hamish Watson and Kosta Barbarouses celebrate a goal in the FFA Cup.

Milos Ninkovic (Sydney FC)
Cost: $170,000
Points last season: 104
The Sky Blues playmaker gave an excellent return on investment in 2015/16 and is sure to be another strong contributor this season. Is a consistent member of the Sydney FC side and is normally at the heart of most of their good attacks. For $170k, you’d be silly not to find room for him in your squad somewhere.
