Melbourne City takes on Central Coast Mariners in prime time on Saturday night in a key Hyundai A-League Round 26 clash with the hosts looking to lock-in a top-three finish.
These sides often produce entertaining clashes and this weekend should be no different with a host of attacking talent in both line-ups.
And it was a cracking encounter when they met in Round 22 of the 2016/17 Season in Gosford, with City earning a 3-2 win over a 10-man Mariners.
In a see-sawing affair, City skipped to an early two-goal lead courtesy of a Bruno Fornaroli free-kick and an own goal from Mariners skipper Nick Montgomery.
But the home side found a way back into the contest after netting either side of the interval, via a Fabio Ferreira set-piece strike and a Ruon Tongyik own goal.
The match swung back in City’s favour when a brain fade at the back led to goalkeeper Paul Izzo being sent off, allowing Fornaroli to restore the visitor’s advantage from the penalty spot.
