Teenager Keegan Smith had a Hyundai A-League debut to remember in Wellington Phoenix’s 1-1 draw with Adelaide United on Sunday afternoon.
The 18-year-old, given his first start by new boss Darije Kalezic, overcame the concession of an early goal to ensure his side took a share of the points with a stunning save at the Cake Tin.
With less than 15 minutes left, Reds striker George Blackwood looked certain to score with a powerful header from close range.
But Smith showed exceptional reflexes to fling out a leg and somehow keep the ball out, much to the frustration of the Adelaide attacker.
