Adelaide and Canberra face off at Coopers Stadium, while Western Sydney will look for their first goal and points of the season, hosting a Newcastle Jets side that got their first win of the 2018/19 Season in Round 3.
Jubilee Stadium hosts a Big Blue double-header, as Sydney FC take on ladder leaders Melbourne Victory. Then, a few thousand miles west, another double-header takes place as Glory host a Melbourne City side desperate to get back to winning ways.

Adelaide United v Canberra United

Adelaide United have wind in their sails, and why shouldn’t they? Not only are they unbeaten in two games, but they also made a bit of history on the way.
Their 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar in Round 3, along with their 0-0 draw with Melbourne Victory in Round 1, meant United achieved back-to-back clean sheets for the first time in their Westfield W-League history.
More importantly, though, the results see them in equal-third alongside Canberra United, making this Round 4 clash all the more crucial.
Canberra, on the other hand, started off the 2018/19 Season with some serious intent, burying Melbourne City 2-0.
They could’ve been two from two, were it not for a miraculous comeback from Perth Glory to rescue a point in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
And then, a 1-0 loss to Newcastle Jets brought Canberra back into the mix, and chasing Melbourne Victory for that coveted first place.

Western Sydney Wanderers v Newcastle Jets

The ladder can be a cruel symbol sometimes. Western Sydney Wanderers have played some brilliant football at times, yet their last-placed position does not reflect this.
Wanderers host Newcastle at Marconi Stadium undoubtedly looking for all three points. A win or two can get them back into finals contention, and give Dan Barrett’s team something to build on.

For Newcastle, consecutive wins would be a nice little boost for the upcoming weeks. Fans will hope Emily van Egmond can return from her slight knee injury, and Gema Simon to steer the ship.
So this fixture is huge for both teams. A Wanderers victory ignites their 2018/19 Season, while three points for Jets gives them a chance at outright second.

Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory

With no less than six players returning from Westfield Matildas duty, Sydney FC’s bye could not have come at a better time.
Ante Juric’s team began the 2018/19 Season ever so brightly, downing their crosstown rivals 3-0 at Marconi Stadium.
A 3-1 loss to Melbourne City in Round 2 brought them back to earth, but expect Sydney FC to fire up in front of a near-sell-out Jubilee Oval for the first Big Blue of the 2018/19 Season.

Melbourne Victory, meanwhile, are the Westfield W-League’s outright leaders after three Rounds.
Two wins and a draw is more than impressive, especially when considering two of those victories came against two of last year’s semi-finalists.

Perth Glory v Melbourne City

It seems Melbourne City could not have drawn Perth Glory at a more inopportune time.
A dramatic, come-from-behind 4-4 draw against Canberra United in Round 2, coupled with a 3-0 comprehensive victory over Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 3, means Glory are firing on all cylinders.

In saying that, City will have some firepower of their own. The squad has three Westfield Matildas – Tameka Butt, Elise Kellond-Knight and Lydia Williams – as well as leading goalscorer, Jasmyne Spencer.
The American dismantled Sydney FC in Round 2, and any iota of that type of form will see City give Perth more than just a run for their money.
