How to watch: Matildas to put it all on the line against United States

THE Matildas face the might of the United States in their final Group G fixture at the Women’s Football Tournament at Tokyo 2020 on Tuesday night.

Victory would see Australia into the knockout phase of the tournament, whilst a draw would give the Matildas a strong chance to progress as one of the best third-placed sides in the competition.

Failure to register a point against the United States would not end Australia’s chances of moving through to the next phase of the tournament, with three points earned against New Zealand providing the Matildas with a solid base to push for a spot in the last eight.

Melbourne City’s 2020/21 goalkeeper Teagan Micah earned her first Olympic minutes in the Matildas’ 4-2 loss to Sweden last time out, joining Emily Gielnik, Tameka Yallop, Clare Polkinghorne and Kyra Cooney-Cross as the fifth star of the most recent Westfield W-League campaign to feature at Tokyo 2020.

The United States bounced back from an opening day loss to Sweden by defeating New Zealand, going into the final night of group stage action level on points with Australia.
