Melbourne Victory v Wellington Phoenix

Friday, December 28, 7:50pm (AEDT)

Two of the Hyundai A-League’s in-form teams meet in this AAMI Park clash.

Victory are unbeaten in seven and had a six-match winning streak ended by Melbourne City in a tense Melbourne Derby that finished 1-1 last time out.

Phoenix have won three in a row, are inside the top six and are thriving under new boss Mark Rudan.

This clash provides a real litmus test for the New Zealand-based side.

How to watch: Tune in to FOX SPORTS 505 to catch the Friday night fixture, which kicks off at 7.50pm (AEDT). You can also stream the match on the MyFootball Live App, Live Fast and Data Free for Telstra mobile customers.

Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar

Saturday, December 29, 7:50pm (AEDT)

Buoyed by a win at Hyundai A-League table-toppers Perth Glory, Sydney FC will be confident of another victory against struggling Brisbane Roar.

Sydney sits third and have won five of their nine matches, form that already has them 11 points clear of the second-bottom Roar.

John Aloisi

John Aloisi’s side faded in the second half of a 4-1 loss in Wellington last week and changes are likely as the Roar boss looks to shuffle his pack.

Newcastle Jets v Adelaide United

Sunday, December 30, 7:00pm (AEDT)

There’s nothing like three points against one of your rivals for a spot in the top six to end the year with a bang.

And that’s the prospect for both of these sides in the Hunter on Sunday night.

The Jets’ win over Central Coast Mariners in the F3 Derby has lifted spirits in Ernie Merrick’s squad and they know they’ll have a chance to leapfrog the Reds with a win in this one.

The only issue for Jets fans is they are the only club in the history of the Hyundai A-League never to win a match between Christmas and New Year.

In fact, in their 14 matches between December 25 and December 31, the Jets only have two draws to their name.

It is sure to give Marco Kurz’s Reds a little more confidence as they make the trip up the F3 on Sunday.

Central Coast Mariners v Perth Glory

Monday, December 31, 7:00pm (AEDT)

After tasting defeat for the first time this season, Tony Popovic’s Glory will be desperate to bounce back with all three points in this New Years Eve clash Gosford.

Perth were beaten 2-1 by Sydney FC in Round 9 and how they respond will ensure this match is fascinating to watch.

The bottom-placed Mariners are clearly struggling for form and may be just what the Glory need to get back on track.

Western Sydney Wanderers v Melbourne City

Tuesday, January 1, 7:50pm (AEDT)

Warren Joyce’s Melbourne City open 2019 in the Hyundai A-League with a trip to Western Sydney.

City kept fighting in a 1-1 draw against Melbourne Victory in last week’s Melbourne Derby, eventually netting a late equaliser through Dario Vidosic.

And if they can start the new year with all three points, City’s position in the top six will be looking even more secure.

How to watch: See who can start 2019 in the right manner on FOX SPORTS 505 from 7:50pm (AEDT) or tune in on the MyFootball Live AppLive Fast and Data Free for Telstra mobile customers.
