But they were made to work surprisingly hard by Adelaide United in a Semi Final they clinched via extra-time and a nerve-jangling penalty shootout that made a hero of goalkeeper Liam Reddy.

In the other corner, Sydney FC finished eight points adrift of the Glory in the league reckoning – although they did beat the West Australian side twice along the way (1-0 in Round 26, 2-1 in Round 9).
Steve Corica’s bouyant side found their way to the Grand Final courtesy of an impressive 6-1 thumping of Big Blue rivals Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
