How to watch: A-League’s Olyroo contingent take on Spain at Tokyo 2020

RIDING high after a shock 2-0 win over Argentina, the Olyroos return to action against the might of Spain at the Tokyo 2020 Men’s Football Tournament on Sunday night.

The A-League was well represented during the Olyroos’ triumph over Argentina in the first Group C fixture of the tournament, with 10 of the 15 players utilised by head coach Graham Arnold having featured in the league throughout the 2020/21 season.

The 2-0 win was decided by strikes from Western United speedster Lachlan Wales and teenage Melbourne City star Marco Tilio on either side of half-time. The result took Australia to the top of Group C after Spain drew with Egypt 0-0 in their first hit-out of the tournament.

The Spanish squad, featuring the star power of Real Madrid duo Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos, RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal, will be eager to get three more points on the board in this Sunday-night clash. But after a near-perfect display against Argentina, Australia will have complete confidence in their own ability to cause consecutive upsets at Tokyo 2020.
