Defending Premiers, Sydney FC, will be aiming to ede the top of the A-League table as they prepare for two contests during a bumper eight-game Matchweek 13.

Steve Corica’s side are on a roll. Two wins in the space of four days has lifted the Sky Blues into fifth place and the Harbour City side are seeking to make it three straight triumphs in Saturday’s Big Blue derby against a last-placed Melbourne Victory outfit desperate for a win to lift the gloom.

Second-placed Western Sydney Wanderers will be eager to stay one step ahead of their crosstown rivals as they face Perth Glory to kickstart the round on Friday night, before Richard Garcia’s team welcome the surging Sydney FC to Western Australia the following Wednesday.

Macarthur FC will be determined to reassert themselves in the finals spots when the Bulls lock horns with Western United, live on ABC TV, on Saturday at 5.05pm, while the Central Coast Mariners battle to stay ahead of the pack when the ladder-leaders square off against in-form Melbourne City in a mouth-watering Monday night clash.
