Heskey sustained the injury in the 23rd minute of the contest following a strong tackle from Melbourne Victory defender Nick Ansell.
Scans today revealed the former England international is likely to miss the opening three rounds of the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season, with the Jets- Round 4 F3 Derby clash with the Central Coast Mariners looming as potential date for his return.
Meanwhile, Jets forward Nathan Burns is awaiting the results of scans to determine the severity of a hamstring strain he sustained during the warm-up to yesterday-s match against the Victory.
Burns was not risked during the match and will have confirmation on the extent of his injury within the next 24 hours.
